Frequently Asked Questions
Which iPhone should I install Routine Dose Planner on?
Since Routine Dose Planner integrates with Apple Health to write captured metrics (like weight or blood pressure) directly on-device, you should install the app on the **patient's primary iPhone**. This ensures their vital readings correctly sync with their iOS Health profile rather than yours.
Does Routine Dose Planner read my health history?
No. Routine Dose Planner's HealthKit integration is strictly **one-way write only**. The app only saves metrics you manually enter inside Routine Dose Planner to Apple Health. We do not read, process, or view any of your personal historical health data.
What is the "Why?" change journal?
Managing multiple changing medications is a major source of stress for caregivers. Whenever you add a new medication, adjust a dosage, swap one pill for another, or archive a routine, Routine Dose Planner prompts you to log a brief note explaining why. These events are saved chronologically in a lineage view, making it easy to walk the history of medical decisions.
How does the Live Activity "pester" reminder work?
When a scheduled medication routine is due, the app triggers a standard local notification alert. In addition, it launches an ActivityKit Live Activity on your lock screen. This Live Activity remains visible, prompting you to log the routine, until you mark it as taken or missed.
Does my data sync across devices?
Yes. Routine Dose Planner uses Apple's native CloudKit framework to securely sync your data across all iOS devices logged into the same Apple ID. The sync happens silently in the background and is fully encrypted by Apple.
